The Division of Clinical Pharmacology was formed as a division of the Department
of Medicine in July, 2000. The missions of this broad-based Division are
to understand the mechanism of action and metabolism of drugs currently in
use, to help in the translation of laboratory achievements into agents for
use in the clinic, to understand the genetic and metabolic bases for responses
to and toxicity of pharmacologically active agents and to understand and
influence those factors which govern the patient's capacity and willingness
to comply with pharmacological regimens. Accordingly, the members of the
Division of Clinical Pharmacology have a broad range of research and clinical
interests.
Facilities
The Division of Clinical Pharmacology currently occupies
1300 square feet of laboratory space and several offices within
New Bellevue Hospital. As the membership of the Division of
Clinical Pharmacology increases we anticipate greater utilization
of laboratory and office space.
