NYU Center for the Study of Asian American Health to co-sponsor symposium: “Take Heart: Prevention, Education & Action”

NEW YORK, January 30, 2006 — The Center for the Study of Asian American Health at New York University School of Medicine, along with the Chinese American Health Heart Coalition will co-sponsor a symposium on cardiovascular health, entitled, “Take Heart: Prevention, Education & Action.” The event will be held on Friday, February 17, 2006 from 9 A.M. to 1 P.M. at NYU School of Medicine’s Schwartz Lecture Hall E.

The symposium aims to educate health care professionals, providers, and students, in order to improve the health and wellness of Chinese Americans and increase public awareness of cardiovascular disease in this population. Feature presentations of innovative programs and intervention initiatives related to cardiovascular disease and stroke among Chinese and Asian-Americans will be offered.
