NYU Medical Center Hosts Free Exotic Car Show Festival For NYC Children

Free Raffle for Battery-Operated Child-Size Porsche

NYU Medical Center is hosting NYU Toys for Tots Exotic Car Show Festival for children in the community on Sunday April 30th @ 10AM-12:30PM, held outdoors on 34th street between the FDR Drive and 1st Avenue. The free event that features 60-70 exotic cars such as Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches, Vipers, and Corvettes will also highlight a free raffle to give away a child-size battery-operated Porsche. Unlike most car shows, children will be invited to touch and enter inside the cars. All kids can take part in a free Polaroid snapshot service with the cars. Participants are also invited to have fun with festival clowns and are offered an abundance of free toys and snacks.

John Layliev

Toys for Tots is a first-time event organized by New York University School of Medicine student John Layliev, an exotic car enthusiast since childhood. John, a member of online exotic car clubs such as the Online Ferrari Community, the Viper Club of America and the Internet's Corvette Community, originally mobilized fellow enthusiasts to gather at NYU Medical Center and personally donate new toys for the children undergoing rehabilitation and recovering from treatment at NYU Medical Center. However, the size of the event and number of donations grew so great, the organizers decided to open the event to the entire community.

“We’re all expecting to put smiles on the children’s faces, especially those who are struggling to overcome illnesses,” said John Layliev, the NYU School of Medicine student and chief organizer of the event. He added, “but there are enough toys and fun for everyone.” John credits his sponsor, Brian Miller, proprietor of Manhattan Motorcars Inc. for providing many of the features of the festival including clowns, cotton candy, popcorn, and snow cones.

The battery-operated Porsche will be given away by raffle to one lucky winner. Raffle tickets are free. All 60-70 drivers will each bring their own donated new toys to the events. Children can enter each car and free polaroids will be made available to all participants. One car will be completely filled with just toys.
