Asian American Health: Student Seminar Series 2006
CSAAH’s Asian American Health: Student Seminar Series will provide
students interested in health careers, an increased awareness about health issues affecting Asian American populations, gaps in health status indicators, and barriers to both care delivery and research for these populations. The seminars also aim to provide an understanding of culturally and linguistically appropriate approaches to research, outreach, community partnerships, and care delivery in Asian American populations.
The goals of these seminars are in line with CSAAH’s Training Core Goals of:
- Establishing an environment that will promote an increased representation of Asian Americans in conducting and participating in community-based research
- Increasing interest and competence in community-based participatory research in Asian American health disparities and community health
- Increasing the number of potential investigators from Asian American and economically disadvantaged groups to conduct research in Asian American health disparities
