Tisch Hospital's facilities are a vital part of our outpatient surgery program. While most day surgery patients may never need to take advantage of the hospital's services, others benefit greatly from our unique model of care, whether they need a specialist's consultation, advanced imaging or laboratory facilities, or, on rare occasions, a transfer to an inpatient service. Should physicians require additional resources or consultations during the course of a day surgery procedure, they are immediately available on site. In addition, rapid communication with our on-site pathologists, radiologists, and other specialists allows surgeons to save their patients time and to make complicated decisions with the greatest possible amount of information at their fingertips. The Day Surgery Center occupies more than 30,000 square feet and includes 10 large operating rooms and 30 recovery beds on the 10th floor of Tisch Hospital. Each of the operating rooms (ORs) features state-of-the-art data ports, advanced video capabilities and a variety of standard mounted equipment.
