Director:
Andrew McCullough, M.D.
The inability to initiate pregnancy is related to male factors in 40% of couples. The impact of infertility is devastating to young couples. Dr. McCullough works closely with the world renowned NYU In Vitro Fertilization Unit and the NYU Genetics Program. He also serves on the Medical Advisory Committee of the Gamete Bank at the Program for IVF. Using state-of-the-art ultrasonographic doppler technology, he strives to identify reversible forms of male-factor infertility. Through close collaborative efforts between Dr. McCullough and the IVF Unit, couples, who 5 years ago would have been unable to conceive a child, are able to have biological offspring. Microsurgical techniques are used for vasectomy reversal, testicular sperm retrieval, and varicocele repair.
Dr. McCullough, who has presented his surgical results in national and international meetings, was selected as one of four nationally-recognized experts to evaluate a Chinese technique of non-surgical vasectomy reversal.
