All surgeons have been and are frequent speakers at many local, national and
international vascular surgical society meetings.
NYU Vascular Associates has participated in many clinical trials of new
devices and techniques designed to improve the treatment of vascular disease.
Most recently, it has become a training center for the newly FDA-approved
Guidant endovascular graft to treat abdominal aortic aneurysms in a "minimally
invasive" fashion. Physicians from all over the United States are coming
to New York University Medical Center to learn this new procedure. In addition,
NYU is the only center that is certified to treat patients with abdominal
aortic aneurysms with both the Guidant and Medtronic stent-graft systems.
NYU continues to be a leader in endovascular research and is one of the few
centers in the U.S. investigating the new Gore-Tex Excluder device of abdominal
aortic aneurysms for the FDA.
All of the vascular surgeons of NYU Vascular Associates, the Division of
Vascular Surgery at the New York University Medical Center, are committed
to improving the care of patients with vascular disease through their clinical
practices, research, and educational responsibilities.
