Community

CommunityThe Hassenfeld Center is unique in its highly personalized approach to care and in the way it creates a sense of community among patients, family members, and the care team.

Although treatment can be a difficult time for many patients and their families, they are well supported during their relationship with Hassenfeld. The care team knows each patient by name and knows him or her as an individual. Patients, as well as their caregivers, develop friendships with each other.

Hassenfeld facilitates programming for children, teens and young adults, and parents and family members to foster a sense of community.

Siblings
At Hassenfeld, we know that a child's treatment affects the whole family. Learn more about how brothers and sisters can participate in Family Fun Day and the Reach Out and Read program

Teens and Young Adults
Teen and young adult patients have different needs and interests than younger children. Learn more about special programs including Photo-Journaling, Horticulture, and the Teen and Young Adult Group.

Parents and Caregivers
We believe in the wellness of the whole family, not just the patient receiving treatment. Parents and other caregivers can take advantage of programs and resources that assist, educate and comfort them.

Referring Physicians
Because many cancer diagnoses respond best to timely interventions, Hassenfeld works closely with referring physicians to ensure the best course of treatment and patient care.
