The NYU Institute of Community Health and Research partners with community-based
organizations and healthcare institutions in order to identify and alleviate
the conditions responsible for health disparities affecting underserved
communities. 
The Institute is a national model for its comprehensive approach to
education, partnership development, patient care, and research.
Current major research areas include Metabolic Disease
and Obesity, Hepatitis B, Genetic Phenotyping, Cardiovascular Health,
and Mental Health.
The Institute’s Education and Training Programs provide opportunities
for community members and the next generation of physicians and researchers
to address health disparities and promote community health.
