The
Skirball Institute of Biomolecular Medicine, which opened in 1993, houses
state-of-the-art laboratories and is the focal point in the Medical
Center’s quest to translate the growing body of biomolecular knowledge into scientific discoveries and improvements in patient care.
Such research requires the crossing of traditional academic lines as scientists from a multiplicity of specialties work together. Therefore space in the Skirball is assigned to researchers working in four thematic areas: developmental genetics, molecular neurobiology, molecular pathogenesis, and structural biology.
