Because we are the newest division within the NYU Department of Medicine, our accomplishments and milestones are in the making now.
I am particularly excited about the grant we just received from the CDC to train physicians in research at the interface of medicine and public health. The basic question we will be training physicians to look at is: How do you deliver quality healthcare effectively and affordably to people in urban centers?
I see this, in fact, as the fundamental challenge for our division-developing strategies for improving the health of patients across a variety of settings in ways that are both practical to implement and translatable beyond our walls.
