The goal of the Division of Gastroenterology's research program is to advance knowledge of digestive diseases and hepatology through an active program of clinical and basic science research and to foster the spirit of scientific inquiry among faculty, fellows, and the residents and students who rotate through our service.
Members of the Division of Gastroenterology are nationally recognized leaders who are involved in numerous studies in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology, including clinical research in the following:
Our faculty also have a particular interest in outcomes research in gastroenterology and hepatology.
In addition, the faculty of the Division of Gastroenterology serve as mentors for medical students, interns, and residents in internal medicine. Numerous students and medical housestaff have worked with our faculty on research projects and the majority of these have resulted in presentations at national meetings and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
