- Hemodialysis Unit consists of 5 cardiac monitor patient care stations
- Primary patient population consists of:
- Inpatients, ages 18 and older, with acute or chronic renal failure.
- Patients with acute renal failure requiring hemodynamic monitoring and cannot be transported, are dialyzed in intensive care areas
- Adult patients requiring hemodialysis on a transitional basis to an outpatient facility
- Nursing practice is founded on evidence-based practice standards and those of various professional associations, specifically the American Nephrology Nurses Association, the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and the National Kidney Foundation – Kidney Disease Outcome Quality Initiatives
- Care is focused on providing safe and efficient hemodialysis therapy and evaluating patient outcomes
- A comprehensive 6-8 week orientation program with continual mentorship and ongoing education
- An active Interdisciplinary Quality and Performance Improvement Committee
- As a hemodialysis professional nurse, you will become part of the interdisciplinary team collaborating closely with the various disciplines
