The NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases Department of Orthopaedic Surgery partnered with Clínica Modelo in May, 2008 to offer patients in Northern Manhattan world renowned orthopaedic care in a state of the art setting.
Located at the border of Washington Heights and Inwood, the Clínica Modelo facilities are one of a kind for this community offering the full complement of imaging and radiological services in a brand new facility. NYUHJD orthoapedists provide one-stop care to patients in these specialties: general orthopaedics, sports medicine, hand surgery, spine surgery and joint replacement.

Dr. Steve Lee- Hand Surgery/Cirugía de la Mano
Dr. Steve Lee is Associate Chief of the Hand Surgery Division of the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases Department of Orthopaedic surgery. His expertise ranges from all problems of the hand, wrist, forearm, and elbow. He treats all age groups from infants to adults. Problems include: carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, sports injuries, fractures, dislocations, ligament injuries (sprains), tendon injuries, tendonitis, nerve compression, nerve injuries, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, arthroscopy, joint replacement, congenital deformities, stiff joints, Dupuytren's contracture, tennis elbow, infection, replantation, microsurgery, tumors, vascular disorders, brachial plexus injury, among others.
Dr. Michael Murray- Spine Surgery/Cirugía Espinal
Dr. Murray is a board certified spine surgeon in the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases Department of Orthopaedic Surgery's Spine Surgery Division. He is committed to the highest quality care of patients with all types of spinal disorders including cervical and lumbar disease and scoliosis. His research experience and interests include motion preservation, minimally invasive spinal surgery, complex deformity correction, and scoliosis screening and outcomes.
Dr. Juan Carlos Robles- General Orthopaedics/Ortopedia General
Originally from San German, Puerto Rico, Dr. Robles completed his residency at the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine at NYU Medical Center and a fellowship in the non-operative spine fellowship program at NYU, under the direction of Dr.Gerard Varlotta of NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases. He is currently in practice with Dr. Varlotta at Spine, Sports & Occupational Rehabilitation Physicians. An avid sports fan, sports and musculoskeletal rehabilitation have always been Dr. Robles' focus as a clinician.
Dr. Andrew Rokito-Sports Medicine/Medicina Deportiva
Dr. Rokito is the Chief of the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases Department of Orthopaedic Surgery Division of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery and Associate Director of the Division of Sports Medicine. He treats all types of injuries and conditions involving the shoulder, knee, elbow and ankle and specializes in arthroscopic/minimally invasive surgery. He served as the team physician for the New York Mets from 2001-2004 and has been listed annually in New York Magazine's "Top Doctors" list.
Dr. James Slover-Joint Replacement /Reemplazo de Articulaciones
Dr. James Slover is a member of the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases Department of Orthopaedic Surgery Adult Reconstructive Surgery Division. Dr. Slover's clinical focus comprises all aspects of primary and revision hip and knee reconstruction, including minimally invasive techniques, unicondylar knee arthroplasty, hip resurfacing, hip and knee arthroscopy, and fracture surgery. He reserves a portion of his practice for general orthopaedic surgery as well.
