The NYU Pain Management Center provides a more holistic
approach than the traditional syndrome-oriented or modality-oriented
clinics. We understand that pain is a very subjective experience. Although
the cause may not be apparent, the pain is very real. At the NYU Pain
Management Center, each patient therefore receives an individualized
and integrated treatment administered by a dedicated team of pain management
professionals.
Successful pain management has three phases:
- Diagnosis of the problem which is usually multifaceted
- Application of a multidisciplinary treatment plan
- Restoration of function
