PET/CT

Fellowship Director: Elissa Kramer, MD

The NYU Department of Radiology offers a one-year PET/CT fellowship for American Board of Radiology or American Board of Nuclear Medicine certified or eligible physicians. The fellowship is based at the new NYU Clinical Cancer Center that houses a state-of-art high resolution, LSO-crystal, 6-slice CT scanner. Four full time faculty experienced in multiple PET and/or PET/CT platforms supervise and teach. Approximately 2500 to 3000 studies are performed annually for a full range of oncologic applications as well as brain metabolic studies. Clinical activities are supplemented by weekly clinical conferences in head and neck, lung cancer, GI, and gynecologic oncology as well as general tumor board. In addition, dedicated teaching conferences are held weekly.

The fellow will be expected to become familiar with all aspects of PET/CT including performance and interpretation of PET/CT. The dedicated PET/CT time will be supplemented by rotations through the various anatomic system-based CT sections. In addition, ample opportunity is provided for the fellow to participate in clinical and, optionally, translational research
