Application Process

How to Apply
All applications to our program are made through the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Information concerning the specifics of application through ERAS can be had through your dean's office or AAMC. An Application Information Sheet which explains ERAS to applicants can be viewed on the ERAS site.

Students of American schools can obtain Student Workstation (SWS) Kits through their respective dean's office. Canadian applicants should contact the Canadian Resident Matching Service (CaRMs). Students and graduates of other foreign medical schools should contact the ECFMG for kits.

Applicants should have their ERAS applications submitted and complete by mid-October. For current information and interview dates please see Interview Information. Ten residents are accepted annually.

Selection of Residents
The applicant's academic record, research experience and extracurricular activities are reviewed. The most important elements of the application are the letters of recommendation and the Dean's letter.

Selected applicants are invited to visit NYU and have up to three interviews. Following completion of all interviews, the selection committee meets to have a session during which applications are reviewed, the applicants are discussed and a rank order for the match is generated.

All selection decisions are made in accordance with NYU School of Medicine Institutional Guidelines.

The most efficient communications with the Radiology Residency Office is through e-mail (michael.ambrosino@med.nyu.edu).
