A Brief History
When Dr. Robert I. Grossman, Louis Marx Professor and former Chairman Department of Radiology (current CEO and Dean of NYU Medical Center), came to NYU, he had a vision of creating a research department that brought NYU to the forefront of research technology. With Dr. Vivian S. Lee, M.D., Ph.D., M.B.A., at the helm as Vice Chair for Research (now Senior Vice President, Vice Dean, and Chief Scientific Officer of NYU Medical Center) and a growing staff of dedicated research investigators, clinical investigators and wide support staff, the radiology research department has risen in rank among academic radiology departments nationwide in NIH funding within just a few years. Radiology Research at NYU is among the best equipped in the country due to a partnership with Siemens, a field leader in Medical Imaging technology.
