Rusk Pediatric Therapeutic Recreation Staff Participate in Special New York Cares Conference
On Thursday February 16 Lisa Del Guidice, CTRS, Senior Recreation Therapist and Mary Wall, CCLS, Child Life Specialist on the Rusk pediatric unit participated on a panel as part of the NY Cares Teen Conference. The panel consisted of professionals in community service-oriented careers. A NYC fireman, international lawyer for the United Nations, social worker from the Department of Emergenecy Management and a fundraiser from Art For Change joined Lisa and Mary to talk to a group of junior high and high school students about career opportunities. A total of 150 kids participated in the conference which had several other workshops for the teens to attend.
