Each of NYU’s vascular surgeons is a faculty member working to translate internationally prominent clinical and academic research into new, promising treatment methods and better medical care.
Currently, NYU’s investigators are actively evaluating the success of open- vs. closed-cell arterial stents, pursuing the best carotid artery stents and protection devices. In addition, we have helped industry determine the effectiveness of emerging varicose vein treatment methods including endovenous ablation.
Clinical trials at NYU evaluate promising vein and artery devices for treatment effectiveness and unknown side effects. Our surgeons lead the investigations at every stage of the trial.
- Before the trial begins, NYU’s advising vascular surgeons participate in a scientific review board alongside medical professionals, administrators, and individuals from the community to evaluate the proposed trial and ensure that it is scientifically sound and appropriately conducted.
